The word Mumbaki has its own meaning. It is about an Ifugao religious specialist meaning sayer of prayers in the Christian world they called them Intercessors. Almost every adult in the region is a Mumbaki who practices the tenets of the religion which they are associated with. These Mumbakis offers prayers during wedding, thanksgiving, funeral and other occasions. They have memorized almost every oral traditions, stories and lineages which are passed on from generation to generations which they perform as rituals. The story is about the son of an Ifugao Chieftain named Joseph who returns to his tribe after the death of his father (an Ifugao Chieftain who was killed in a tribal dispute with the Alimit tribe. He was about to live the Philippine to US with his fiancee, however was obliged to return to the Lidum tribe where he was chosen to lead the battle againts the Alimit tribe. Joseph is a young doctor who return to bury his father. While there, he discovers his rich heritage and acquire pride in his being an Ifugao. He is unable to resist the urge to help his village, which has resisted modern medicine and is in the midst of pneumonia epedemic and civil war. It covers the adaptation new way of curing illness of people but it will disobey their beliefs where they believe that their Baki or Gods may perish them in any curse. The story begins with the conflict between the unsettled marriage. And also they argued about the boundaries of their territories, where who should own the old tree between the two tribe. Each them ask explanation that ends up the leader of Lidum tribes death and those start of the beginning of war for revenge and justice. The Lidum tribe believes that once they cannot have the justice of death of the leader they will suffer like experiencing different illness and wars that may cause to death of other people too. And all the tribe in Ifugao does not believe the medicine that given to them by their doctor. They believe that only their Mumbaki can help and save them with help of their Baki because he is the one sent by Baki to save them. But the epedemic disease become worst which lead to death of many people. Nowadays, scientist, doctors, engineers, etc†¦ discover many things that could help our society to become more progressive to cure many diseases and illness and in terms of communication and transportation we are now more advance. But sometimes because of our culture, all belief and practices hinder our minds to accept those things and also the tradition of different people there are instances because of hatred it will only caused a never ending war but we have one country, one government to maintain the peace and settled every problems we have through peace talk and court trials, we should respect the value of life of every individual. Our team reached the Southeast Ridge Balcony approximately five and half hours after departure. This is one of the most difficult points to climb. Our team gradually ascended along the Balcony from around 8 a.m. to 10 a.m (Kayes, 2004). Did the team project work as expected or not expected? The team project did not work out as planned because not all members reached the summit. Most gave up ascending at Hillary Step due to wastage of time and snarl-ups. One of the expedition leaders breached the agreement regarding the order at which each team would begin for final summit. The team was not armed with radios for communication. One our team member was severely exhausted when we reached the Southeast Balcony. I together with another team pulled the climber with assisted with guide Sher pa. Moreover, our team was caught up in bottleneck. We could not proceed beyond that point because safety ropes had not been fixed. Our team together with other teams joined hands to secure the fixed safety ropes to secure our next mountain climbing session. This marked the onset of series of bottlenecks that were to occur in the course of our climbing. Our sojourn at Hillary Step took roughly an hour. Again, we were caught up in traffic snarl up, since long queue of climbers behind us was waiting for their turn to climb. Ropes had not been fixed as anticipated. We could not communicate to those below us, because we lacked radios. Unnecessary anxiety and confusion among climbers was looming. This point was approximately 28,800 feet beneath peak of Mount Everest. The previous climbers had not secured the ropes to facilitate ascent of those below at reasonable time (Kayes 2004). The Many Types of Anxiety Disorders Essay There are many different types of anxiety disorders which can vary from obsessive compulsive disorder, Post traumatic-stress disorder and the many different types of phobias. Even though there are many different types of anxiety disorders they all are mostly built off the same emotion of anxiety or excessive nervousness. Although we all may feel nervous when put into an uncomfortable position and get nervous or anxious, those with the disorder go through a completely different set of emotions. Just to touch basis in depth on a few different disorders, here are a few types of anxiety disorders along with what they are and how it affects the person. * Generalized anxiety disorder: this anxiety affects the person by making him/her worry about life in general, with no real reason to be worried. People with this type of anxiety disorder tend to always expect disaster and can’t help but to worry about family, money, work and or school. Medication is known to help people who tend to have a lot of difficulty coping with everyday life. It’s known that most that are medicated for generalized anxiety disorder starts off on a low dosage and then works to be taken completely off. Another form of treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy. Which is the person learns about what types things sparks or triggers the effects of their anxiety. This type of therapy is known to help patients not worry so much. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This type of anxiety disorder is known to follow someone after they have experienced a traumatic event (sexual assault, unexpected death of loved one, past war experience) People who have this disorder tend to have thoughts or memories of the traumatic event. It is also well known that people with this disorder tend to become â€Å"emotionally numb† Symptoms: * Difficulty falling or staying asleep * Avoiding people, places, things or situations that remind them of the event * Suffer from flashbacks, hallucinations amp; nightmares * Difficulty concentrating Rapid breathing * Muscle tension Treatment: * Medications such as antidepressants. There are many other different types of anxiety disorders that vary in effects (long term and short term), what the person deals with on a daily basis, along with many different types of treatments. The 4 main skills I found most useful to me were note taking, time management, critical thinking, and reading. These 4 skills used together will make all the difference in school and grades. This class has showed many others useful tools but these are my most interested skills that I have learned and become interested in.Well with critical thinking Ill asked myself questions such as what did I just read and what if I had a test right now could I apply what I just learned. Applying what you’ve read is very important and studying and reviewing over what you’ve read is the most important thing. Why did I read this? Why am I taking notes? Applying the why to note taking and time management and the other 4 skills I find helpful helps me clarify what I’m doing. I’ve had encounter s when I ask myself why didn’t I read that information sooner or why didn’t I study and review over my notes I had taken?Why couldn’t I of managed my time better? Asking me these questions every day and trying to make solutions for them help me and will help anyone else. The important facts I learned about each of these skills in that they are not only helpful in school but at home and the workplace to. Note taking can be used anywhere even at home or work. All of these skills will help you become a better individual and allow you to create a better sense of who you are and how you learn.In time management you have ask yourself questions so that you can fit everything in your schedule. I plan to use my note taking skills in all my classes and outside of class so that I can review all of the information I need to every day right after I have a lecture or after work so I don’t forget my job duties. There is no such thing as too much studying and reviewing a nd reviewing makes things less cloudy so you have fewer questions to ask yourself.I’ll use my time management skills to better schedule due dates and test schedules so they bite my from behind and so I won’t forget about planning time for work and studying so I can make a decent grade on my final exams or important tests. Reading my information over and over will help my comprehend it better and leave less room for cloudiness and allow myself to have less and less questions about the information I need to learn so I can make a better grade on my tests and other assignments.I plan to do everything differently such as taking notes and studying a lot more physically.
